Prioritize. None of us have the time necessary to address all of our land management goals, so sometimes prioritizing makes sense. If you’re going to be implementing prescribed fire soon, now is the time to prioritize stands so you can optimize what you can accomplish in the time you have available. Stands that have succeeded past brood habitat and are now dense nesting cover, or maybe stands that are juxtaposed to other valuable vegetative communities for wild turkeys – those should be priority if you have plans to conduct prescribed burning in the upcoming weeks.
